Industry standard facilities

Barkly International College will give you the best chance to succeed in your industry by teaching using the latest industry techniques and equipment.

For example, our Automotive students have an exclusive campus with a huge fully functioning automotive workshop. Our business students get to role play business scenarios in a boardroom and have an office environment to observe and get a feel of the industry firsthand.

This campus is on a main road about 1 km from the heart of Melbourne. It is easily accessed by train from Southern Cross Station and a 10min walk to the college or from Parliament Station and a 5min walk to the college. This campus amenities include classrooms with computers, a student library and sitting area, a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, tea and coffee and separate male and female toilets plus x1 handicapped toilet. This campus has free student Wi Fi.

This campus is approximately 8-10mins from the Melbourne CBD. It is easily accessed by train from Macaulay Station and a 5min walk to the college. This campus also provides car park spaces for students. This campus is a double story building, ground level has a fully functioning automotive workshop and level 1 has theory classrooms and a computer lab, a simulated student boardroom and a student library and sitting area. There is also a mezzanine level above the workshop which contains a recreation room/student lounge with board games, table tennis and plenty of space to hang out and study. This campus also has free student Wi Fi.

Flexible Study Options

Barkly College offers monthly course intakes and several timetable options allowing you to reach you study goals with flexible options

Student Orientation

Orientation is conducted before commencement of your course.

Its purpose is to fully inform new students of most aspects of life at the College and to provide an introduction to studying, Melbourne’s costs of living, transportation, facilities, banking and accommodation. In addition College staff will be introduced, a tour of the College and the local area will take place and an opportunity to ask questions will be given. It is essential that you attend the orientation program otherwise you may miss out on information that affects your study, your visa or your enjoyment of your stay in Australia.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Your existing skills obtained through previous work, education and life experiences may make you eligible to receive formal recognition towards your qualification through the Recognition of Prior Learning process.

This process acknowledges that people learn in many different ways and that learning may have been obtained through formal or informal learning. To receive RPL, your skills, training and experiences are assessed against recognised qualifications.

Course Credits

Barkly International College accepts and provides credit(s) to learners for units of competency and/or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by:

 

AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation, OR

Authenticated VET transcripts issued by the Registrar.

Credit will be granted not only for studies completed at an RTO, but at any authorised issuing organisation, such as a university. In such cases, an analysis as to the equivalence of the study completed with the relevant unit/s or module/s would need to be completed before any credit could be granted.
